TTT 29 Belwas

By now, anyone who's watching Game of Thrones and read A Song of Ice and Fire has realized some sad news.

 There's no strong Belwas.
No blobbity bea-eating brute who decapitates an arrogant Astaporian lancer ...then poops on him.

Alas poor Belwas, we'll always remember you!

too many fried locusts for poor Belwas

(couldn't help but to think he looks like some garbage pail kid....)

Gotta clean this guy up and add some shading but here's a work in progress image of ASOIAF's answer to King Hippo.

TTT 28: Oberyn Martell; The Red Viper

I know we say this every time "oh this is one of my favorite characters", but this week's TTT highlights a character that showcases my FAVORITE house/ region in A Song of Ice and Fire:

The Prince of Dorne, from House Martell; Oberyn Martell.

   THE RED VIPER

Lithe as a snake, deadly and venomous as the vipers under the sands of Dorne. Oberyn is quick to anger and horrible in his wrath. Having studied at the Citadel in Olde Towne, Oberyn has learned the arts of poison and venom. (Much to the chagrin of the Lannisters)

His actions and endings are one of the catalysts to bringing House Martell and Dorne into the war....albeit slowly.
There's so much I'd love to draw on this guy, but here he is, ready for his duel with the Mountain. "The Snake jumps over the Mountain."

TTT 27: Mance Rayder

Ahoy.
So it's been a while. Projects, work and other obstacles.
But we're back with one of my favorite characters; Mance Rayder

Mance Rayder is the King Beyond the Wall, but nothing like other kings. Rough, unattractive, and seemingly unassuming. I pictured him as fierce as a wilding and solemn as one who's walked The Wall and seen the impending doom of the White Walkers.

No crown or jewels for this King, only iron, snow and a yard of red thread.

Was experimenting with a quick way to make some colors look 'bronze-ish' and hope they worked.

Wait till you get a load of Casey's "Mance"

 here's the original drawing.

TTT 25: The Reeds

Continuing in our theme, TTT presents "The Reeds"
From the swamps of Westeros, Jojen and Meera Reed!

Since they're from the swamps, I decided to make them a bit more disheveled than the book intended. Let's be honest, if they live in a floating city/town in the Neck, then they're not exactly the height of fashion.

Bit of delays over here. Holidays, illness (woo!) and deadlines. Next one will most likely be someone dear to me (in the stories)

TTT 24: Cold Hands!

Winter is coming and Cold Hands has felt it's sting.....

For those of you who've followed Bran and Rickon north of the Wall, you've met the mysterious "Cold Hands".

A bit of a puzzle, cold hands has been dead a 'long time', calls Samwell "brother", rides an elk, similar in appearance to the White walkers (though not blue eyes) and conceals his face.

so, a bit late on this one. We couldn't get together till Saturday due to projects.

We're having a blast with the ASoFaI characters and hopefully you see one you like.

Casey - TTT 23: Gregor Clegane

Well this certainly can't end well, now can it?

TTT 23: Gregor Clegane

A far fetch from Daenerys, we have the "Mountain that Rides": Gregor Clegane.
(Shocking! Casey and Zach like antagonists! Wowzers.)

A huge ball of rage, murder and tool of the Lannisters, this monster pillages and burns the riverlands and makes short of any that oppose him.
Here he is, at what is something of his untimely end...and a new beginning.

Part of me wants to tell people "spoilers!", but really; Everyone should read these books. They're fantastic.

(original sketch below)

** I know that I'm not going to get the colors done tonight, so here's a WIP of the orginal sketch, with inks.
  More soon!
